(Closed) Call for Internal Auditors of European Youth Press

The European Youth Press (EYP) is also seeking two Internal Auditors to help ensure the financial health of the organisation. This voluntary position is a great opportunity for someone with experience in finance and auditing who is passionate about transparency and accountability within a dynamic international organisation.

About the Role

Internal Auditors play a critical role in overseeing EYP’s financial integrity. You will work closely with the Executive Board to review financial records and ensure that funds are used responsibly.

• Term: Voluntary two-year mandate.
• Location: Elections will be held during the General Assembly on 9 & 10 November 2024 in Brussels, Belgium. Part of the event can be attended virtually if necessary.

Responsibilities

As an Internal Auditor, you will:

• Check and verify the financial health of EYP.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies.
• Work alongside the Executive Board to ensure transparency in financial matters.
• Dedicate time to annual travel to Berlin to conduct audits (travel costs are covered by EYP).

Eligibility and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should meet the following mandatory qualifications:

• Familiarity with EYP: You should understand the structure and operations of the European Youth Press.
• Financial Expertise: Candidates must have prior experience as an auditor or financial controller.
• English Proficiency: A good or excellent command of English is necessary for the role.
• Travel Commitment: Willingness to travel to Berlin once a year for audits.

Desired Qualifications include:

• Experience with EYP-related projects or partnerships.
• Involvement in one of EYP’s Member Organisations.
• Experience working in international, multicultural teams.

No Age Limit

There is no age limit for Internal Auditors, allowing for a wide range of candidates to apply.

Election Process

The election for Internal Auditors will take place during the General Assembly on 9 & 10 November 2024 in Brussels. Results will be communicated both at the event and via email.
