Call for Advisory Board Members of European Youth Press

Are you a media enthusiast with experience in journalism and a passion for supporting youth voices? The European Youth Press (EYP) is seeking new members for its Advisory Board for a voluntary two-year mandate. This is a unique opportunity to support a dynamic organization that empowers young media makers across Europe and fosters international collaboration.

About the Role

The Advisory Board is a crucial element of the EYP’s governance, offering guidance and strategic advice to ensure the organisation’s continued growth and effectiveness. As a member of the Advisory Board, you will work closely with the Executive Board and other stakeholders to shape EYP's direction and impact.

  • Term: Voluntary two-year mandate.
  • Location: The elections will take place during the General Assembly on 9 & 10 November 2024 in Brussels, Belgium. Candidates not physically present will be able to participate virtually for part of the event.

Responsibilities

As an Advisory Board Member, you will:

  • Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Executive Board.
  • Help guide EYP’s long-term vision and ensure that its projects align with its mission.
  • Dedicate at least 5 working hours per month to EYP-related activities, excluding board meetings.
  • Collaborate with EYP’s diverse network of young media makers to foster growth and innovation.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to contribute to a European organisation while maintaining a flexible commitment.

Eligibility and Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Advisory Board should meet the following mandatory qualifications:

  • Familiarity with EYP: You should understand the structure and functions of the European Youth Press.
  • Media/Journalism Background: Candidates should have experience in media or journalism, either through content production or training.
  • English Proficiency: A good or very good command of English is required, as it is the working language of EYP.
  • Time Dedication: Willingness to dedicate at least 5 working hours per month to EYP.

Desired Qualifications include:

  • Prior experience with EYP-related projects or partnerships.
  • Previous involvement with one of EYP’s Member Organisations.
  • Experience working in multicultural and multilingual teams.

No Age Limit

Unlike the Executive Board, there is no age limit for Advisory Board Members, making this role accessible to a wider range of experienced candidates.

Election Process

The elections will take place during the General Assembly on 9 & 10 November 2024 in Brussels. Results will be announced during the event and subsequently communicated via email.
